The Problem LLC
The Problem is Bellingham’s FIRST and ONLY jazz/funk/soul/pop collective. Composed of some of Bellingham’s youngest professional musicians ranging from 21-35 years of age, we play our own take on hundreds of jazz tunes and originals - as well as pop, funk and soul tunes ranging decades!
We are a GROWING collective of musicians in Bellingham and the surrounding communities. If you're interested in becoming part of The Problem, come support the shows and jam with us!
The FOUNDATION
Founded by Bellingham trombonist and performer Samuel Harris while attending Western Washington University's school of music, The Problem was formed as an official collaboration between some of the youngest freelance jazz musicians in Bellingham! The Problem is meant to act as an outlet for the creativity, musicianship, freedom of expression and spirit while providing a working income for musicians. We want to spread Bellingham‘s hippest notes across the Pacific Northwest, all while growing the local scene, for local musicians.

When all working together to grow a community around music, the people that matter the most are ALL OF YOU! One important mission of The Problem is to grow and liven up The Pacific Northwest‘s jazz and funk scene from our base in Bellingham, WA. Our fans, local businesses, those who have had us play and/or are looking to have us at your venue or private event - YOU are the solution!
